Advanced dive into Burgundy with no fuss. Led by Maksym Demchenko.
Burgundy is a peculiar place. It punishes inattention and frivolity. It daunts with its topographical complexity and a lengthy list of vineyard names. At its core, it's simply a land of two (okay, three) grape varieties. They say the only way to get a grip on Burgundy is to dive in. There are no shortcuts in this journey, and the high cost of its wines adds an extra layer of intimidation.
However, I believe there's a way around this. On one hand, tastings offer a collective way to experience wines without breaking the bank. Partnering with someone knowledgeable about the region can illuminate the experience further, providing context and logic that demystifies the region's complexities.
Our plan is to explore the areas around the heart of Burgundy, Côte d'Or, starting with Chablis, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâcon, then moving on to separate sessions in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. With Maksym as our guide, we are ready to embark on this journey.
P.S. Please note that this article only includes brief technical details about the wines we tasted and our evaluations. If you're interested in joining us for future tastings, you can follow our Telegram channel or message me directly!
